"GRAIN" is a tableware series designed to savor the raw texture of clay, the subtle speckles on the surface, and the rich, unique feel and character of each piece.
The name comes from the countless "grains" scattered across the surface—a distinct look born from using recycled clay made by coarsely crushing discarded Mino ware, a traditional Japanese ceramic.

Bits of glaze from the recycled ceramics—in shades of blue, brown, black, and more—emerge as speckles, giving every piece its own one-of-a-kind character. These scattered flecks add a warm, natural tone to the underlying white base.

To fully highlight the raw qualities of the material, the exterior is left unglazed, offering a tactile feel that connects you directly to the clay's natural texture.
When held, the subtle texture of the grains creates a soothing warmth and comfortable grip.
The interior is finished with a clear glaze, ensuring it resists stains and remains easy to use every day.

The recycled clay used for the GRAIN series is created by crushing discarded Mino ware into small bits
and blending them, sourced from the Tono region of Gifu Prefecture, Japan.

This material reflects a commitment to circulating the resources of Mino ware—
a craft cultivated over a history of more than 400 years—and connecting them to new tableware.
