Just a rectangular block with five holes—. That minimal volume is what defines BRICK STAND, a compact umbrella stand designed for effortless use at the front door or on the porch.

Inspired by perforated bricks from Finland, BRICK STAND is characterized by a design that is both rustic and original. With a footprint nearly the size of an open hand—measuring only 158 mm by 118 mm—it fits easily by the front door or on the porch, and was even conceived to function as a doorstop.

The material, which evokes a sense of natural nostalgia, is "recycled brick." With a strong focus on sustainability, several years were dedicated solely to its development. The raw materials consist of recycled clay, discarded ceramic waste, and slag (a mineral-derived byproduct)—containing over 70% recycled content.

The colors—brick red, stone white, and ash black—are derived from the natural hues of the raw materials themselves. Instead of relying on paint or artificial dyes, these three shades were achieved by blending recycled materials that naturally carry those colors. Furthermore, the subtle tones and patterns that emerge during the firing process are unique to every piece, transforming each item’s individual character into a charm that only recycled materials can offer.
